DescriptionRectangular replica gold Anglo-Saxon sword harness mount with inlaid replica garnets. Design consists of an upper plate fixed to a lower plate by three rivets at each end. The rivets are plain gold with beaded wire collars, and are interspersed with cross-shaped cloisonné garnet cells. The lower plate is of plain gold. The central rectangular panel is raised, and decorated with inlaid cloisonné garnet work comprising a basic mushroom cell pattern. Each long side is decorated with a narrow band of step-cut cells. Replica of find from Sutton Hoo Mound 1.
