TitleAngel's Head
-
DescriptionCopy of Angel's Head by A, H. Mackmurdo, dating to 1876. This painting is a copy of a section of 'Baptism of Christ', c. 1468-1475 held at the Gallerie degli Uffizi, Florence. The original was painted by Andrea del Verrocchio, Leonardo da Vinci, and an unidentified artist at Verrocchio's workshop. The object has been identified as part of the LGBT+ collections as it refers to Leonardo Da Vinci. Though there is little concrete evidence for any specific relationships Da Vinci may have had, it has long been acknowledged that he had relationships with men. He had an accusation of sodomy brought against him in 1476 and remained very secretive about his personal life after that.
