DescriptionThis painting of an unnamed woman standing in a meadow of flowers was created in around 1395. Known as the Green Lady of St Osyth she is shown wearing a green dress with gold detail and a padded headdress. The painting was once part of a larger work at St Osyth Priory – an Augustinian Abbey founded in 1181. It is painted on plaster backed by wattle and daub.
