DescriptionA specimen of lead - a chemical element. Lead is toxic to humans, although it was once used in cosmetics, petrol and is still used in some paints - although led paints are increasingly rare and the sale of lead based paint is banned in the UK escept for specialist use.This fragment of galena was selected for the Wicked Spirits exhibition as it relates to the practice of alchemy. Alchemists thought metals like this could be turned to gold.
