DescriptionIron Age gold stater of king Dubnovellaunos. Dated 20BC to 10AD. No legendOn the obverse there is a wreath punctuated by two opposed crescents with a single pellet-in-ring resting in the junction of both crescents. The obverse type has a pronounced banded structure running in the same direction as, but not quite parallel with the wreath. It had been struck centrally on the flan. The reverse shows a horse to left above a branch, with a pellet-in-ring above the rear of the horse and another below the branch. There is a pellet below the mouth of the animal. The type is inscribed but only the very lowest parts of the letters are on the flan, and the legend cannot be read.
