DescriptionIron Age gold stater of king Dubnovellaunos. Dated 20BC to 10AD. No legendOn the obverse there is a wreath that terminates in a pellet, punctuated by two opposed crescents with a single pellet-in-ring resting in the junction of both crescents. The obverse type has a pronounced banded structure running parallel with the wreath. It had been struck well off the flan, such that only half the wreath is present. The reverse shows a horse to left above a branch. There are two pellet-in-rings below the branch, and a third above the horse damaged by a v-shaped removal from the edge of the coin. An arc of three pellets runs from the eye of the horse, past its mouth. To the rear of the horse there are two curved lines. None of the legend is present because that part of the die with the legend missed the flan above the horse.
