DescriptionAn antiphonary, or a book of antiphons. An antiphon is a verse or sentence sung by a choir in response to another. Thirteenth century folio size manuscript on vellum with leather bound oak-board covers, held with two leather and copper alloy clasps. Contains musical notation and several illuminated drawings and capitals. Probably produced at the court of Corradina, Frederick II's grandson and King of Sicily, in about 1250.
