DescriptionCaddy spoon; Black turtle-shell with gold pique. Remarkable specimen of tortoiseshell beautifully inlaid with gold to form delicate design of Rose-sprays, vase, scroll and other ornament. Trifid or lobed-end termination to somewhat urn-shaped handle, recalling the stem-ends of the late 17th century lobed-end spoons. Circular moulded at the back to simulate a seashell, the back of the stem at the top having similar ornament.
