DescriptionSchool blazer for Colchester Royal Grammar School, c.1922, with matching tie and square of tie fabric. Blazer labelled 'A. Owen Ward Merchant Tailor, 14 High Street, Colchester, with Colchester Crest. Blazer: purple wool flannel with edges bound in purple and cream striped silk & turn down collar and revered lapels, with buttonhole & single breasted with three brass buttons & full length sleeves with a brass button on each cuff & left breast pocket bears an embroidered crest - a crown in cream, gold and red, and the letters OCS (Old Colcestrians Society) in cream & two hip pockets & unlined & repair at top of right pocket. Tie: rayon & purple with gold stripes, edged with ivory & made from two pieces, joined 84cm from widest end & labelled 'silk weft, rayon warp / Made in England'
