DescriptionBow inkwell. Painted in early underglaze blue. Inscribed around top, Made at the New Canton factory in Bow, 1750. Blue glaze.the blue decoration is from cobalt. The lighter Royal Blue colour was only produced for a few years at the New Canton factory. Afterwards a deeper blue was used from an other source of cobalt from the continent.
