DescriptionMan's waistcoat of old gold silk(?) figured panne velvet (plush?). Plush waistcoat worn by A.G. Wright (previous curator) at his wedding in 1855. Waistcoat with front panels of old gold silk(?) figured panne velvet & collar and wide revers edged with silk piping & double breasted with three pairs of self covered buttons & two inset curved waist pockets, edged with silk piping & opening and bottom hem edged with silk piping & centre front is cut lower than the front & back of dark beige wool/cotton? with two waist ties fastening with three pairs of metal eyelets and cotton tape & lined with cream cotton twill.
