DescriptionThis patch box is covered with pink enamel on the base and white enamel on the lid and has a mirror inside. It is decorated with an image of a man and woman in front of a church, with the inscription 'The girl I love and the friend I can trust'. Being popular in the 18th century, these patch boxes were often given as romantic gestures or gifts and contained decorative face patches.
