DescriptionFine white linen collar with two long tabs. It has topstitched hems and narrow curved lines of topstitched appliqué in the same fabric. The collar is made up of a separate piece sewn on and shaped with darts. For a baby, part of the Layette. Staybands were a kind of headdress with two ends which hang down on the side of the head and were fastened on the breast with pins in order to make the infant hold its head straight. 1660
