Khaki wool jacket of the 5th Essex Volunteers. 1915. 'two pounder' jacket. khaki wool jacket & turn down collar (with points sewn down) with two metal hook and eyes to fasten & shoulders have two panels sewn unders the epaulettes & epaulettes fasten with brass buttons (left shoulder button missing) & full length sleeves, each arm has badge with 'V Essex' sewn on at the top & single breasted with five brass buttons with Essex Regiment crest (general service buttons) & two slit hip pockets with button down flaps & two breast patch pockets, with inverted pleats, and button down flaps & two brass belt carriers on waist & back constructed from three shaped panels with two vents & unlined
