DescriptionBodice of light khaki with large elaborate pagoda sleeves and decorated with jaquard ribbon and chenille roundels. Circa 1855. High piped neckline & bodice has two large pleats from shoulder to ruched front centre point & boned from bust to centre front point & centre front fastening of twelve buttons and holes covered with silk & drop shoulder line concealed by pleating of bodice across shoulder, and piped & back of bodice has 8 horizontal rows of chevrons made of chenille roundels & large pagoda sleeves with an extra top layer consisting of a rectangle edged with wide floral jaquard ribbon that is trimmed with same roundels, with three tassels down the front edge & actual pagoda sleeve is trimmed with same jaquard ribbon and roundels and is lined in silk with pleated ribbon around the openings & bodice has a cotton calico lining.
