Red cotton twill bodice, probably stage costume. With gold and silver metallic thread detail, lace cuffs and gathered linen and lace decollatage. Square neckline with gathered linen organdie inserts front and back, and black tape and white lace trim all around. Short sleeves edged with black tape and white lace trim - gathered with stitches in top of sleeves. Shoulder seams have black piping. The hem is divided into seven tabs, edged with black tape. There are two gold and silver metal thread motifs on front. Centre front fastening of nine hooks and eyes. There are loose yellow threads all over the garment where something has been added and removed. Arm protectors on inside. Purple grosgrain inside waist belt fastening with three hooks and eyes. Uncertain date.
