thimble, thimble case

Thimble case. Octagonal shaped ivory box with hinged lid containing a thimble. Regency (?) Case: Small octagonal thimble case with hinged lid. Wood completely covered with ivory veneer. Carved hole inside lined with purple velvet. Base has carved dark wood support to put thimble on. Each outside edge of the box is inset with metal. With metal hinge and metal press button fastening. Thimble: White metal thimble with 'VA' makers mark. Punched indentations all over, in places these actually start to pierce the metal. Bottom rim of thimble has bevelled edges.
