DescriptionWhite cotton sateen waist skirt lining with train and silk frills. Originally had pale yellow silk outer layer, still visible around waist. Circa 1890-1910. form: white cotton sateen waist skirt lining & waistband shows evidence of outer layer of pale yellow silk, now completely gone & left centre front opening - fastens with three large metal hooks and two eyes on the waistband, and eight small metal loops and cotton eyes below & white cotton tape waistband & two metals loops on back waistband to attach to bodice & fitted - cut in three gores & trained & two layers of jap silk frills around front hem, graduating to 6 layers of frills on train & remains of two hanging loops on inside waistband
