waistcoat, waistcoat

Brown silk waistcoat with a thick black stripe and fine blue and white stripe. Unusual narrow collar and lapels. Single breasted with seven ball shaped silk covered buttons (one missing), two welted pockets. Brown cotton twill back with adjustable tapes and metal eyelets. Pale twill lining with leather strips inside front hem. Taken in later. Circa 1838-45.
