DescriptionWhite cotton princess line petticoat with embroidered decorations and broderie anglaise decoration. Deep vee neckline with a border of broderie anglais tape (with ribbon holes), trimmed with lace & sleeveless, armholes trimmed with lace & yoke of finer cotton with vertical embroidered decoration and broderie anglaise & main body of garment constructed from six vertical panels - the two front panels have a long dart from beneath the bust to the top of the frill at the bottom & two large tucks have been added later to shorten the garment & centre back fastening of eight mother of pearl buttons, all of different types & flounce at bottom constructed from a horizontal band of same decorated fabric as yoke (with three tucks) above a band of same broderie anglaise tape as neckline, with a frill of different scalloped broderie anglaise at the bottom & short, 365mm layer of a creamier colour cotton (cut off another garment) attached as an under layer - underneath the lower shortening tuck - added after shortening Circa 1900-1920
