Evening dress of deep strawberry coloured heavy satin rayon with sleeveless bodice with V neckline at front and V at the back & with darts to waist at back and front & to the bust at the side. Decoration of dark pink and black small glass beads with pink sequins in a tulip floral pattern down the right side of the bodice and at centre back. Long flared skirt, just above ankle length, cut in four pieces attached at waist seam. Front hem of skirt cut up 'tulip' style and decorated with glass beads in the same floral pattern. Beading in two lines around the bottom of the hem. Hem inside re-enforced with same material making it very stiff. Left side placket fastening with three poppers and one hook and eye. Fully lined in a pale pink rayon. Beading has been applied after the dress was constructed. Circa 1953
