DescriptionYellow woven 'straw' hat with a shallow crown, a wide brim and an 'x' pattern worked into it. With a dark brown plasticised ribbon and bow. Labelled 'A Le-Wite Hat' inside. Circa 1950s. Bright yellow woven 'straw' hat of plant fibre with a cross pattern in the weave. Constructed in one piece and machine sewn together to create the shape, with a seam down the back of the brim continuing to a dart over the centre of the crown, and machine sewn cut edge under the brim. Round crown decorated with brown ribbon coated with a shiny synthetic material tied in a large bow at the front of the hat sewn up onto the crown. White rayon lining around the inside of the crown with printed makers label.
