DescriptionLady's suit consisting of jacket and skirt, of pale brown/green flecked twill worsted wool, with an overall grey appearance. . Labelled 'Art and Style Tailoring, A Bernstein, 13 Butt Road, Colchester'. Circa 1960. Size 16/18? Jacket: single breasted with three grey plastic buttons decorated with a knotted rope pattern, with handsewn button holes & turn down collar and revers & full length sleeves, each with three same buttons on the cuffs & two bound slash hip pockets & front is constructed of four panels, with darts to shape bust & back is constructed of two panels & lined in champagne synthetic satin, with an internal pleat on the top centre back for ease of movement. Skirt: straight, mid calf length skirt & single panel on front with two darts at waist & single panel on back, with a kick pleat runnIng the full length on the centre back (sewn down at the top) & waist back is 30mm deep & side fastening metal zip of 205mm (perhaps a replacement) & waist has two hooks and eyes and a popper fastening & skirt is lined in the seat area at the back only.
