DescriptionNaval captain's uniform. Jacket and trousers with gold braid and brass buttons. Gold epaulettes with anchor and crown. Black leather belt and shoulder strap. Also a cocked hat in original box. Sword and scabbard. Medals; Crimea 1854 Sebastopol Bar, Crimea Turbish, Baltic 1854-5, China 1857-8. Trousers are of an Admiral rank (broad stripe) and don't match the jacket which is of a Commander rank (braid on the sleeves has been put on new). Trousers do match the 1850s date. Crown on buttons of jacket is that of Queen Victoria. Jacket shows some prior evidence of pest grazing on the lining of the tails.
