petticoat, petticoat

White cotton petticoat with front fastening, broderie anglais decoration and scalloped hem. Circa 1900-18? High wide neckline trimmed with lace and a draw string tie & sleeveless, with lace trimming & centre front of six self covered buttons and buttonholes & insert of broderie anglias under front neckline & two hand stitched tucks above and below waistline - possibly to alter length and shorten & skirt part has two layers - bottom layer has a plain frill & outer layer of skirt is constructed from three bands - the top and bottom bands are decorated with three pintucks and a deeper tuck - the central band is of broderie anglais & skirt is trimmed with a scalloped broderie anglais frill.
