suit, two-piece suit

Man's black dress / evening suit consisting of tailcoat and trousers, for a tall individual. Black woollen worsted. By Burtons. c.1950. Tailcoat: black woollen worsted & turn down collar and large revers with rayon grosgrain facing & full length sleeves with four small buttons at each cuff & centre front opening six buttons, three either side of opening, but it does not fasten & jacket is cutaway at front & long tails, 71cm, with two buttons at top at waist & tails lined with black rayon & inside right breast pocket & labelled on inside breast pocket. Trousers: black woollen worsted & 4cm deep waist band with six white brace buttons on the inside & centre front opening with seven black buttons and a tab and metal hook and eye & trousers are tucked onto the waist & two pockets either side of waist on one pocket on back & black braid down side seams from waist to bottom of legs & inside waist lined only.
