R.A.F jacket and trousers for a Group Captain with medal ribbon. Label in pocket and style suggests date of post 1960. RAF blue woollen jacket with matching belt. Turn down collar and small revers, with RAF insignia badge on each. Single breasted with three visible metal buttons with RAF insignia and one plain button hiden behind the belt. Belt fastens with a two pronged brass buckle and a press stud fastening at the point. The belt fastens to the jacket at the back with two hidden poppered straps that fit through two small hidden belt loops. Full length sleeves with four bands of pale blue and black braid signifying the rank of Group Captain. Four buttoned flapped patch pockets on front, the top two with box pleats, and a small slit pocket hidden underneath the belt. Medal ribbon above left breast pocket. Kick pleat at centre back. Inside lined with blue rayon satin, with a buttoned pocket in right breast. Label above inside pocket 'Burton Tailored' and paper label inside pocket. Medal ribbons: Four medal ribbons above the left breast pocket. From left to right - Africa Star, Italian Star, George Medal and ? RAF blue woollen trousers. Centre front fly fastening with 7 buttons, one hidden button inside and a tab with metal hook and eye. Adjustable waist band with two buttons each side. 6 white plastic brace buttons on the inside waist. Small slit pocket just under waistband at right front. With two pressed pleats at front either side of fly. Two pockets in the side seams. Pocket on right back with missing button fastening.
