DescriptionTwo-piece Utility Dinner Suit consisting of black wool facecloth jacket and trousers. Labelled 'Hepworths, Leeds and London'. 1940-50. CC41. Jacket: black wool facecloth with rayon lining and facings & shawl collar and lapels & single breasted with two button link fastening & full length sleeves with four buttons at cuffs & two waist pockets with one internal pocket in left one & one left breast pocket & two vertical darts at front & plain back & one right breast pocket & label on outside of pocket and inside of pocket & utility label inside jacket seam. Trousers: black wool facecloth & waistband with six buttons for braces on outside (one fallen off - in jacket pocket) & front four button fly, with flap on waistband fastening with metal trouser hook and eye & two unpressed pleats either side at front under waistband & two waist pockets lined with white cotton and one flapped back pocket & black braid on outside leg seams.
