DescriptionRed twill weave cashmere cape decorated with black beaded pattern and fringe. Home made. Worn by Eliza morris of Cavendish Mill, Suffolk. `c.1890s. Red twill weave cashmere cape. Large rectangular piece of cloth with tucks at the shoulder to shape and semi-circle cut for neck. Fastens with hook and eyes (only one hook remaining). Bottom edges have cotton decorative fringe with black beads. Large pattern on back of black braid and black beads. Smaller patterns on bottom right corners and front of shoulders.
