DescriptionMan's three piece suit with knickerbockers. Heavy brown wool twill tweed with green stripe. Trousers made into knickerbockers circa 1966. Worn for beagling. Labelled "Armaclad, the reinforced tweed". Made for Hadley's outfitters, West Mersea. 1961. Jacket: Single breasted with three leather buttons and buttonholes. Turn down collar can be turned up and secured into place with a tab handsewn on one end and secured with button (this may be a later home made addition). Also a leather button and button hole on underside on revers. Full length sleeves. Left breast pocket, with reinforced flap. Two hip pockets, with flaps. Centre back vent. Fawn cotton twill lining. Inside right breast pocket and inside left waist pocket with button fastening. Label "Armaclad, the reinforced tweed" on back inside neck. Waistcoat: Centre front fastening of six buttons and button holes. Tweed front. Fawn cotton back with shaping strap, back is 9cm longer than the front. Left and right breast pockets and hip pockets. No collar or revers. Knickerbockers: Worn with braces - six buttons on waistband (goes higher at the back). 6 fly button fastening at centre front. One back pocket and two on front sides. Trousers shortened to just below knee length - vent and triangular insert on inside legs. Added cuffs that fasten with one button. Label in back of trousers.
