coat, court coat

Man's frock coat of black wool worsted(?), with basket weave buttons and quilted sateen lining. Circa 1890-1899. Collar with revers faced with fine grosgrain fabric and two button holes & full length sleeves, each with small basket weave buttons on the cuff, lined in cream glazed cotton with terracotta, grey and blue vertical stripes & double breasted with three pairs of basket weave buttons & bodice part constructed from two large panels at front, that finish toward the back, and four shaped panels on the bakc & waist line drops slightly at the front & watch pocket just to right of opening at waist, on left hand side & bottom panels of skirt section at back are divided at centre and headed by two silk basket buttons & lining of black silk - padded and quilted around the torso - machine stitched & two inside breast pockets.
