nightdress, Women's nightdress

Woman's nightdress of rayon rose pink satin. Sleeveless, cut on the cross and trimmed with cream lace at neck and armholes and lace inserts at the bust. Circa 1930s. Woman's rose pink rayon satin nightdress, sleeveless with vee neck front and back, cut on the cross and constructed of 6 panels with 4 small godets in the side seams at the hem. Bodice is made of 4 triangular shaped panels over the bust and forming the shoulder straps. The neck is trimmed with a wide cream lace with a scalloped edge which has been embroidered with a dark pink cotton over the seam attaching to the main fabric which is also scalloped. The armholes are trimmed with a narrow cream lace and the same narrow lace is appliqued over the seam attaching the bodice panels to the main part of the nightdress. French seams and all hand sewn.
