suit, three-piece suit

Three-piece suit of charcoal wool worsted consisting of jacket, waistcoat and trousers. By Gieves, London. 40 pounds. Jacket: charcoal wool worsted & turn down collar and revers, with button hole in left rever & full length sleeves with four buttons on each cuff & single breasted with 3 buttons & one left breast pocket and two hip pockets & lined with grey rayon and sleeves lined with striped cotton & inside right breast pocket with makers label (label cut off at bottom) & plain back. Waistcoat: charcoal wool worsted front and black rayon satin back & no collar or revers & centre front fastening of six buttons (one missing) & four pockets - two on each breast and two on each side of waist at front & small belt at centre back waist, fastens with two pronged metal buckle & lined in cream cotton sateen with red and blue pin stripes. Trousers: charcoal wool worsted & waistband with seven belt loops, four brace buttons on inside front and two tabs with brace buttons on the back and two adjustable side tabs with metal buckles & centre front fly with six buttons and tab with metal hook on waist & trousers are pleated onto waist band in four places on front & two side pockets and one rear back pocket with button & turn ups at the hem & waistband lined with same fabric as waistcoat lining.
