DescriptionMasonic apron belonging to Arthur Charles Butcher, a member of a Colchester Masonic Lodge, 'Comrades Lodge'. Cream and blue coloured leather with blue silk grosgrain border and decoration. With metal chain detail and snake shaped hook. 1925-1955. Apron form: white leather front and triangular flap both edged with blue grosgrain silk ribbon & backing of blue leather & waist strap fastening with a snake shaped hook system & metal length adjuster. Apron decoration: three grosgrain 'rosettes' with central button detail on the front & two strips of hanging grosgrain ribbon lined with white leather, each with floral metal bar with seven short pieces of loose hanging chain.
