hat, panama hat

Panama Hat, with black petersham ribbon and bow. Labelled "The Ridgmont Make Genuine Panama". 'F Burnham' handwritten inside. 1920-1950. Small hat with round crown and narrow brim made of jipijapa plant material (from Ecuador, Peru or Colombia, known as a Panama hat because they were marketed from there). Crown decorated with black Petersham ribbon with a bow at the side. Inside crown has a wide white Petersham sweat band with the makers label printed on it and 'F Burnham' written on it.
