DescriptionAn oval enamelled patch box with a hinged lid and a mirror inside. The lid is decorated with a picture of trees and a building with the inscription 'A Trifle from Reevesby Abbey' and the base is a mauve colour. Patch boxes like these were mostly made during the 18th century and contained patches to cover up scars or accentuate facial features.
