DescriptionA copper alloy finger ring with red glass setting. The sitting is attached to the ring with a circular clawed bezel. The band of the ring flares towards this setting, with triangular gaps in the wider section for decoration either side. This ring was selected for the Wicked Spirits exhibition as it relates to objects being worn for magical protection. Rings with precious stones in were sometimes believed to have magical properties. When precious stones were too expensive, some people used cheaper alternatives, such as glass.
