DescriptionBone flute with two holesThe 'flute' was examined on 15 November 2005 by one Helen Leaf, a post-graduate student at University College London working on a doctoral thesis dealing with medieval flutes. Helen said the object was not a flute because one of the perforations should be d-shaped (and none of them are) and the object is too short. Helen had no idea what the object was. She also pointed out that it had been cut at both ends by a saw showing that it had been cut by a bone-worker rather than a butcher.
