DescriptionRoman, large semi-circular gridiron found at the Gilberd School on North Hill (now the Sixth Form College). It is designed with four inner curved rungs on each side of the central bar. A gridiron was used for cooking food, e.g. for grilling meat. Burnt during the Boudican revolt and destruction of Colchester.
