DescriptionRoman hand mirror with border of counter sunk holes, no handle extant. The disc is largely complete, but fragmentary. Areas of the rim missing with the countersunk holes providing a weak point. The reflecting surface is mounted onto perspex with areas of glue and modern solder. Reflecting Surface: Polished, flat surface with a border of countersunk holes. Two concentric circles incised immediately inside the border of holes. No further decoration. Patches of green corrosion. Rear: Polished, flat surface with border of countersunk holes. Two concentric circles deeply incised around the rim inside the holes, with a further series of concentric holes around the centre of the disc. Raised circle in the centre of the disc. Area of the border equivalent to width of c.3 holes (15mm) where the holes have not been pierced where the handle would have been attached.
