DescriptionA Roman flagon (Déchelette 62 type) with a fine off-white fabric and yellow-green glaze. The foot is pedestalled and the body is of a piriform shape. There is moulded decoration on the body consisting of what is referred to as: 'corded cigar' and 'circle and arc' motifs, with a continuous corded decoration circling the bottom. The pottery is known as central Gaulish lead-glazed wares. this was a foreign import from Gaul, France, which was found in a high status burial, known as the 'Child's Grave'.
