Cephalopoda, cuttle bone

One cuttlefish cuttlebone.Cuttlebones are the hard internal structure inside cuttlefish, it acts like an internal shell. It is used by the cuttlefish to control its buoyancy (how well it can float in water). Cuttlebones occasionally wash up on beaches.
