DescriptionA mount of a wryneck. These birds get their name from their ability to turn their heads through almost 180 degrees. When disturbed on the nest, they use this snake-like head twisting and hissing as a threat display. This wryneck was selected for the Wicked Spirits exhibition as it relates to superstition. It's Latin name, Jynx torquilla, was given as people believed it could put a spell on anyone who disturbed its nest.
