DescriptionLure hook made of a whalebone shank with an outer face of pearlshell, a turtleshell hook, a vegetable fibre hackle at one end and a plaited olona bast fibre line at the other end. See similar in Pitt Rivers Museum collection 1886.1.1301. Label bagged up with these IPSMG:R.1939.157.a-b: 'Fish hooks shaped from Pearl shell - Tahiti Society Isles.
