DescriptionLure fish hook (ba) made of a whalebone and black pearlshell shank, attached to which is a turtleshell barb, with two-ply twisted vegetable fibre running along the shank. At the bottom a frayed fibre hackle. A long plaited coconut fibre line extends including a cylindrical bone attachment. Used for trolling large fish. Marked on in black ink: '1945.157.26' and '1966.1.830' and 'Tonga'. Mrs Alice Moore collection.
