TitleGreat Bustards
-
DescriptionCase containing four Great Bustards and one chick. Case paid for by Mr Fison. Two of the four birds were specimens already in the museum before the case was built in 1902, but were from Suffolk. The other two are a pair from a flock released by Lord Jureagh and Lord Walsingham hoping to get them to re-establish a population in the area. They were shot by a gamekeeper who was prosecuted under the Game laws and fined five pounds.
