DescriptionSpearthrower made of wood, flat on one side and rounded on the other, tapering to a smooth pointed end. Decoration of curved sections of parallel lines infilled with cross-hatching. Wooden peg carved from the whole. Written in pencil: '1925.112.4 Victoria' and in black ink: 'DLJ 775.77'. Part of a group of Aboriginal Australian weapons (two boomerangs, two shields, two spear throwers, two clubs) collected by Rev Isaacson in 1863, lent to Ipswich Museum in 1925, and apparently presented formally to Ipswich Museum in 1929.
