DescriptionFour gouache sketches depicting two men and two women wearing costume from the 17th century. The larger gouache of a man has been glued to the paper and he wears a large black coloured hat, jerkin with slashed sleeves trimmed with lace, knee-length breeches which have a blue and dark red trim and brown knee-length boots. The woman's dress is dark pink with a blue under dress, the neckline is low, with a narrow waist and full floor length skirt. The two other smaller figures wear Puritan style costume with large brimmed brown hats. Handwritten in top right hand corner 'English', 17 Century', '1600'.
