DescriptionTjurunga (also spelled Churinga) made of wood. Flat, light wood, rounded at one end and pointed at the other. A hole drilled into one end with a circle bored around it. Pattern on face shows 6 sets of concentric squares. On reverse he beginnings of three circles as decoration, unfinished. Stuck-on label: 'Letter stick or similar(?) West Australia (N.W.) A Bell'. Registration number marked on in black ink: '1925.54' and in pencil at the pointed end incorrectly '1928-54'. Collected by the missionary Rev V.N. Sherwin of the Forest River Mission at the request of Mr Alfred Bell.
