Panda Harris :Hi there, I understand it's difficult to add the full details of everything in your collections but surely one of the most easily available pieces of information must be the name of whomever donated each piece to the museum or to whichever institution it was originally given to. Just this one extra piece of information would give the viewer so many more opportunities to look into the possible background of each item. For instance, if it said the king of the Ebo people donated it to the museum, that would immediately give a much different perspective on its past than if it said it had been donated by someone who had spent time in action with the British military in West Africa. I would be very interested in in taking something like this on in a voluntary role, maybe beginning with a small closely defined set of items that hold some part of their history in common. I think it's a really important part of what 21st century museums should be doing, they are not inanimate objects but things that will have very interesting social lives of their own.
